
Macaulee Cassaday is a writer, producer, and advocate based in Toronto, Canada.
They are the co-founder and Program Director of Cyber-Seniors, a non-profit organization that connects young people with older adults to promote digital literacy and intergenerational connection. Through this work, Macaulee has led national outreach efforts across Canada and the U.S., fostering inclusion through technology and storytelling. They are also the co-founder and CEO of Pink Light Productions, a production company dedicated to telling stories at the intersection of sport, gender, and entertainment.
Their producing career began with Cancer Is Gay, a deeply personal short film exploring the intersection of illness and identity. Since then, Macaulee has created and produced two seasons of the web series Sam, Dev & Ange and two seasons of the documentary series After Caregiving for the Telus Fund. They are also the writer and producer of The Choice, a documentary examining the impact of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) on caregivers, and the producer of Pink Light, a short film about a trans hockey player’s return to his sport, which premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
Macaulee is currently developing Harmony Gardens, a comedy series about the staff and residents of a non-profit retirement home, and Lion’s Den, the feature adaptation of Pink Light.
At the core of their work is a commitment to stories that explore identity, autonomy, and the systems that shape marginalized lives.
